Oh My Boat – Fashion Collab JORD Wood Watches

Cet été fut placé sous le signe du voyage. Tout d’abord avec la découverte de la Californie du Sud lors d’un road trip suivie de plusieurs semaines à travers la France accompagnées d’une escapade en Italie. Quand je rentre dans mon pays d’adoption pour y retrouver la famille et les amis ~~(le vin et pâtisseries)~~, j’aime planifier quelques sorties là où je ne suis jamais allée auparavant. Sur ces photos, j’ai découvert la jolie commune de Cassis, son port et ses célèbres calanques.

I am saying goodbye to a Summer full of travels this year. First, there was my road trip in Southern California, followed by several weeks across France, then a quick getaway to Italy. Every time I go back to my native country to reunite with friends and family, I always plan some day trips to places I have never been to before. In these photos, you can see me wandering through Cassis in the South of France and its famous creeks (named ‘Calanques’ in French).

Hello tout le monde,

J’ai peine à croire que le mois de septembre commence déjà. L’été semble être passé à toute vitesse mais c’est sans doute le prix à payer quand on s’amuse trop. Un petit article aujourd’hui pour vous donner des nouvelles et aussi apporter un peu de paroles à toutes ces photos postées pendant l’été. Un été new-yorkais, et aussi californien et français; je n’ai pas trop à m’en plaindre car comme vous le savez déjà, j’adore voyager!

J’ai commencé le mois de juillet avec quelques jours de vacances et un road trip en Californie du Sud entre San Diego, Newport Beach en passant par Catalina Island, et Los Angeles. Un voyage découverte absolument enrichissant et revitalisant dont je vous ai parlé plus en détail dans les articles précédents. Ce voyage a également été l’occasion de vous faire part de quelques tenues d’été (ici, ici, et ici). Mais surtout, je me suis enfin lancée dans le monde merveilleux des VLOGS. Moi, qui suis beaucoup plus à l’aise derrière la caméra, je n’y ai pas fait la maligne devant! Enfin cela semble vous plaire ces petits compte-rendus vidéo (le VLOG San Diego ici et le VLOG Catalina ici). Je peux d’ailleurs vous en monter un sur mon passage à LA si cela vous tente. Qu’en pensez-vous?

Hi everyone,

I can’t believe September is here. It seems like Summer went as fast as a dream, but that is probably the price to pay when you have way too much fun! Today’s blogpost is to put some words on all the pictures I published this Summer and provide you some details on my travels. Within two months, I had a NY Summer, a Californian one and a French one. I can’t complain as you know how traveling is one of my favorite things.

I started July with a few days off and a road trip in Southern California between San Diego, Newport Beach to Catalina Island, and all the way up to Los Angeles. An amazing discovery trip that I already talked about in my previous articles (I still have to show you LA). This trip was also perfect to share with you some of my favorite Summer looks (here, here and here). Further more, I took the opportunity to jump into the VLOGGING world. For now, they are in French but if you fast forward a bit you can see the videos of the places I visited. Watch the VLOG on San Diego here, and the video of Catalina Island here. I also have a few videos of LA I can put together if you’d like. What do you think?

Topshop Style – Summer outfit 2015 – Fashion Blog

Dernier volet de ma visite à Catalina Island en Californie avec ce look idéal pour les vacances. Si vous avez vu mon vlog de la semaine dernière (et j’espère que vous avez pu y jeter un oeil ici), vous en avez eu un petit aperçu. J’ai trouvé cette robe d’été chez Topshop avant mon départ en vacances. J’adore le motif qui me transporte directement sur une île. Porter une robe, il n’y a pas plus simple. Je l’ai accessoirisée avec une petite ceinture vintage et quelques bijoux.

Cette robe était vraiment pratique pour visiter l’île Catalina, me balader dans ses petites rues étroites, manger une grosse glace et même l’enlever facilement pour un petit saut dans la mer turquoise. Ceci est un look presque totalement Topshop puisque j’y ai trouvé ces sandales en même temps. Je les ai portées chaque jour comme vous avez pu vous en rendre compte dans mes deux derniers articles mode (ici et ici), et je continue plusieurs fois par semaine. Ces chaussures se marient avec tous mes ensembles, elles sont tellement comfortables. Et le comfort, c’est la priorité numéro 1 en vacances.

Qu’en pensez-vous? Portez-vous également des robes à imprimés?

This is the last article on my visit to Catalina Island, and I thought I would close the chapter with a hint of Summer style. You had a glimpse at my look if you watched my VLOG last week (I hope you did. If not, you can find it here). I found this Summer dress at Topshop before packing up for my vacation and I was instantly attracted by the flower print. I thought it would be ideal to wear it on an island. Wearing a dress is so easy. I kept it simple by accessorizing with a thin vintage belt and some pieces of jewelry.

This dress was the perfect outfit to visit Catalina Island, walk around its narrow streets, eat an enormous ice cream, and even quickly take it off to jump in the sea. This is almost a total Topshop look as I found these shoes at the same time. You saw it in my 2 last Fashion posts (here and here), I wore them every day and I still tend to do so whenever I can in the city. These sandals work with any outfit; they are so comfortable. And comfort is a number 1 priority while on holiday.

VLOG #2 – Catalina Island en Video

Vous avez été nombreux à apprécier le premier vlog sur San Diego. Je récidive aujourd’hui avec une seconde vidéo sur Catalina Island, toujours lors de mon road trip en Californie. Enfin cette fois, je dirais plutôt mon boat trip! Catalina Island, je vous en ai parlé il y a quelques jours dans cet article où je vous ai notamment donné un aperçu avec toutes mes photos et quelques détails sur ma visite d’Avalon.

Filmer ce vlog a été un vrai challenge. Avec les festivités du 4 juillet, il était quasiment impossible de trouver un endroit au calme pour vous parler; et cela même en hauteur. Comme la dernière fois, je vous fais mon speech avant de montrer les petites vidéos prises lors de cette journée (minute 3:00 si tu ne veux pas m’écouter). Je me rends compte que parler en tenant le selfie stick et en gérant les cheveux au vent, ce n’est pas si facile et je m’excuse pour les petits tremblements. (Et matez un peu les coups de soleil – le teint homard, c’est tellement pas tendance).

J’espère que cette vidéo vous plaira et qu’elle vous donnera envie de partir en vacances, et peut-être même en Californie. Je vous souhaite un très bon weekend et merci encore de me suivre. xx Jennie

I received such great feedback on my first vlog last week about San Diego, that I decided to give you another one! This time, I recorded a wonderful day visiting Catalina Island during my road trip in California. Although, on this occasion, I can actually say boat trip. I shared with you all my pics already this week on this article where you could see the small town of Avalon.

Recording this video was such a challenge. Being in Catalina Island on the 4th of July was such a party that I had trouble finding quiet spot to speak. I know this vlog is in French with no subtitles (promise I will try to add some); but you can fast forward to the end of my speech, minute 3:00, to watch the small videos I filmed. Also, recording while talking, holding a selfie stick and fixing my hair, I now see how it made this part of the video shaky and I apologize in advance. I am still learning! (I won’t really discuss all the sunburn I got – lobster tan is so not trendy!)

I hope you will enjoy this video and it will motivate you to book and go on holiday this Summer. Life is too short and traveling is so damn good for the soul. I wish you all a great weekend and thank you again for following me.

Road Trip Californie – Catalina Island, Newport Beach & Balboa Island

Je continue le récit de mon road trip en Californie en vous parlant aujourd’hui de Catalina Island, Newport Beach et Balboa Island. Après mon joli périple à San Diego, j’ai remonté la côte Californienne pour prendre le bateau à Newport Beach et passer la journée à Catalina Island.

Le 4 juillet dernier, jour de fête nationale (Indépendance des Etats-Unis), je me suis levée tôt pour aller prendre un énorme catamaran. Il était 7h du matin et les parkings de Newport Beach étaient déjà bien encombrés. La plage était en effervescence avec les locaux venus tôt pour profiter de la journée de festivités avant les feux d’artifices du soir – mais surtout pour s’assurer un emplacement pour poser le divin barbecue. Direction le port pour ma part pour prendre un petit déjeuner sur le pouce avant l’embarquement. Après une traversée d’1h30 très mouvementée et passée à l’étage le plus haut du bateau, me voilà arrivée sur Catalina Island – dans le port d’Avalon.

Let’s keep going on my California Road Trip. Today I will introduce you to Catalina Island, Newport Beach, and Balboa Island. After my wonderful trip in San Diego, I drove up the Californian coast to take the ferry in Newport and spend the day at Catalina Island.

This past 4th of July, I woke up very early to line up for the ferry. It was nearly 7AM on a national holiday and the parking lots were already full. People arrived at dawn to ensure a place on the beach, but mostly to install their beloved barbecues. Everyone was ready to party all day until the fireworks. I went straight to the port to order a quick breakfast before boarding the giant catamaran. After a shaky ride of an hour and half, spent at the highest spot outside on the boat, I arrived in Catalina Island, in the village of Avalon.
