Les vitrines de Noël à New York

Les fêtes de fin d’année approchent à grand pas et New York s’est comme tous les ans habillée pour l’occasion. Que l’on aime ou non cette période, le charme et la créativité des vitrines de Noël des grands magasins sont indéniables. Encore une fois cette année, j’ai eu la chance de profiter du spectacle avec une météo clémente, sans doute la première tournée photo sans les gants et les bonnets.

The year is coming to an end and New York is beautifully dressed up for the holidays. Whether you like this time of the year or not, you cannot deny the charm and the burst of creativity behind the windows of the department stores across the city. This year again, I enjoyed a few nights to walk around and enjoy the show. With great luck and thanks to the warm weather, I believe it was my first Holiday window photo walk without hats and gloves.

Je commence tout d’abord avec le magasin Lord and Taylor sur la Cinquième avenue et ses vitrines autour de la nourriture. Bonhommes en pain d’épice, cupcakes et gâteaux glacés m’ont bien mis l’eau à la bouche.

First, Lord and Taylor on Fifth avenue displayed its Holiday Windows focusing on sweet specials such as gingerbread, cupcakes and iced cakes. 

Macy’s nous fait partager les aventures de Snoopy et Charlie Brown. Tout à fait dans le thème de Noël qui m’a bien donné envie de rentrer à la maison et regarder les vieux dessins animés Snoopy de mon enfance sous la couette avec un bon chocolat chaud. Esprit de Noël garanti!

Macy’s was all about Charlie Brown and Snoopy. All I wanted after that, was to head home and watch the old Peanut movies on the couch with a hot chocolate. Christmas spirit guaranteed!

Saks Fifth Avenue avait comme d’habitude les vitrines les plus chics de New York avec ses filles au style Marie-Antoinette frappées par un coma d’après dîner de Noël. Mais des filles qui malgré tout ont su garder la classe.

Saks Fifth Avenue was very chic as always, and focused on Marie-Antoinette-like girls in a middle of a Holiday food coma. All while remaining classy, of course.

Le célèbre magasin Tiffany & Co s’est habillé tout de blanc et bleu Tiffany pour mettre ses bijoux merveilleux en scène. De quoi faire rêver les passants (enfin surtout les filles).

Tiffany and Co was once again beautifully all dressed up in white and Tiffany Blue and showcased its stunning creations. A big dream for all the girls passing by.

Barney’s sur Madison Avenue s’était emparé de sculpteurs de glace. Enfermés dans les vitrines, ceux-ci ont pu réaliser leurs créations.

On Madison Avenue, Barney’s was all about ice this year and requested the help of ice sculptors to create their arts on the other side of the windows.

Le magasin Bergdorf and Goodman sur la Cinquième avenue a pris le thème de la fête au sens propre. Style grand bal de Noël avec ses dames aux cheveux fous. Pas de Ugly Sweater party ici mais de la mode en folie.

Bergdorf and Goodman on Fifth was all about the Christmas party. Like a giant and joyful Christmas bal with its crazy hairstyle ladies. No Ugly Sweater party here.

Bloomingdale’s a repris les grands classiques de Noël et ses créations multifacettes animées. Les photos ne font pas honneur mais c’est vraiment magnifique à regarder (vidéo en préparation… Chut!).

Bloomingdale’s transformed the big Winter classics with multifaceted animated creations. These photos do not translate the magic as it was truly wonderful to look at. (I might have a video in progress…).
