Oh Févrrrrrier, le mois le plus glacial de ma vie à New York, et soi disant le plus froid depuis 80 et quelques années. Malgrès mon amour pour NYC, ça a été difficile de se motiver à sortir. Bon, aller bosser est une obligation, le shopping une nécessité, et bruncher… Il faut bien se nourrir, non?!
Plus sérieusement, Manhattan m’a donné des envies d’expatriation vers une île tropicale. Comme vous pouvez en témoigner sur les 10 photos sélectionnés sur mon Instagram de février, New York était belle, enneigée et aussi glaciale. Pour changer de Central Park, je suis allée me promener à quelques reprises à Bryant Park. Quel choc de découvrir ce gigantesque glaçon qui était autrefois une fontaine. J’adore Bryant Park, sous le soleil comme sous la pluie ou la neige, ce park est magnifique. Un petit coin de verdure au milieu des buildings, on ne peut plus New York que ça, non?

Oh Febrrruary, how else can I describe you? It has been a crazy freezin’ month in New York, supposedly the coldest in 80 something years, and I have been struggling to find a motivation to step outside the apartment. Of course, work is an obligation so I had to, shopping is a necessity and brunch… Well, you’ve got to eat, right?!
Seriously though, Manhattan had me dreaming of leaving it all behind to move to a tropical island. As you can see on the 10 favorites photos of my Instagram account for February, it was beautiful, snowy and frozen. To change from my traditional visits to Central Park, I walked by Bryant Park few times and was shocked to notice the giant frozen ice cube that used to be a fountain. This park is so gorgeous in the rain, sun and snow. I love to be in a tiny park surrounded by buildings. It doesn’t get more New York than that.
Ce mois-ci m’a contraint à rester une semaine au lit, malade. Après cela, j’ai profité de chaque instant passé au chaud à profiter de mon appartement. Chocolats chauds, cuisiner le brunch, lire les magazines, prendre de longs bains chauds et rattraper mon retard dans les séries TV et marathon des films nominés aux Oscars… Ralentir le rythme dans cette ville qui ne dort jamais m’a fait un bien fou.
The cold got into me pretty badly this winter and feeling under the weather is the perfect expression to describe the week I spent sick in bed. I took any opportunity I had to stay in and just enjoy my cozy apartment: hot chocolate, homemade brunch, catching up on magazine, taking long hot baths and binge watching TV shows and Oscar movies… It was very beneficial to slow down and rest in the city that never sleeps.

Malheureusement, j’ai “profité” du micro climat qui plane sur la Belgique… Après l’hiver, l’automne, c’est bien connu! 🙂 J’ai eu l’occasion de braver le froid new-yorkais en février 2013 mais il y avait peu de neige comparé à cette année!
Cela dit, ces paysages eneigés au milieu des buildings donnent droit à des photos magnifiques!
Le ciel bleu, ce traitre ! Jai cru comprendre effectivement qu il a fait bien froid ces dernières semaines la bas !
