Elena V Designs Fashion collections

During NY Fashion Week, I was invited to discover the universe of Elena Vasilevsky. Born in Ukraine and raised in New York, the modern artist lets her creativity shine through her fashion brand Elena V Designs. There are many words to describe her new collections but as she confesses: “My designs express my soul and passion for dancing. Every piece from my collections contains piece of my soul.”

And, if I have one word to describe Elena Vasilevsky, it’s: ambitious! Everybody knows how much work it is to create a clothing line and put together a fashion show. Well, last September, Elena didn’t show us one catwalk. Nope, she mesmerized us with two different runway shows.

As you know, my blog is more women’s fashion oriented but as any photography lover (not to say addict), I enjoy taking pictures of everyone and everything that catches my eye. During the last New York Fashion Week, some pretty men got their A game out there and did not hesitate to express their creativity through their outfit. It’s a Shoe story…

Now that Fashion Week has moved from NY to London to Milan, I can only share with you some memories. But what pretty memories! The magic about street style is that it involves anything that is happening outside. And one of my favorite pieces I photographed is shoes! Sandals or wedges, flat or high hells, sneakers or stilettos: pretty shoes were running around all week. And sometimes it is also good to see the world from above. Here are some shots of my favorites. They make such a statements don’t you think? No need for clothes, these pairs of shoes speak for themselves.

NY Fashion Week – Streetstyle #5 / Prints

I can surely declare that this season, printed patterns took over the dominant solid black typically present at Fashion Week. There were prints on so many people running to shows that it was a festival of forms and colors at the Lincoln Center this September. Whether it was animal prints or geometrical prints, two color prints or more color prints, you could see printed designs everywhere: on dresses, pants, shorts, skirts, hats… Fashionistas mixed them with a plain piece of clothing or just wore the same pattern from top to bottom for a total look. Bold people even mixed different prints and wore them together. Oh man, you gotta love those prints!
