Fall in Central Park Fall colors travel blog mybigapplecity

It is time to wave the Autumn in New York goodbye.  This year again, I cannot help myself and share with you a few photos.  I took them during one of my morning walks with Harrison.  The sunlight was divine and gave Central Park such a soft poetic look.  The season started late this year and the NYC Fall foliage took its time to reveal itself.  This week, Fall is coming to an end in NYC, the trees are losing their leaves.  And we might even see a few snow flurries at the end the week…

If you follow my Instagram Stories, you know how much time I spend every day in Central Park.  One of the many perks to be a dog owner and live close by.  On a weekday, Harrison and I spend usually an hour in the park before 9am.  Our afternoon stroll lasts for an hour and a half.  And we go back for a walk after 9pm for another hour.  Dogs in Central Park are permitted off-leash before 9am and after 9pm.  On weekends, we spend even more time in the park.  I can’t tell you how precious those park walks are to me.  They have allowed me to form strong friendships with other New Yorkers.  I am grateful to be part of this community.  Several work opportunities would have never happened without this little park routine either.  Having a dog on the Upper West Side is definitely a plus!

I measure my luck every day to be here and enjoy such an iconic place.  Even after all these years, I still pinch myself.  Even more so when I am feeling down, without motivation, sad or after a serious case of a bad day…  All I have to do is stop and open my eyes to see how lucky I am to be surrounded in what looks like a dreamy movie set.  Still, it is very real!

The burst of vivid Fall colors is fading this week.  We can feel that Winter in New York is coming.  So is the Holiday season.  Even though, I am not in the Christmas spirit just yet.  I am just hoping and looking forward to a wonderful and snowy Winter season.
