A Tomboy in the City

March 26, 2015

New-York-Streetstyle-Fashion-blogger-MyBigAppleCity

In my dreams, I am not defined by a single style, but all of them. And sometimes in real life, I’m a TOMBOY.

Among one of my latest shopping sessions in New York (yes, there are plenty of them but never too many…), I was immediately charmed by this graphic sweater from Banana Republic. Attracted by the definition of the Tomboy style, even though my daily style can be better described as basic-chic, I instantly imagined how to style this Tomboy piece. As you already know, I am very fond of pastels and pink… As for the jeans, I have been in a deep and active hunt for the perfect blue jean cut. It’s been months and believe me when I tell you that I have visited a ton of fitting rooms since then. First, I found this perfect pair of ripped cream jeans that you seem to love. And recently, I encountered those petite fitted blue jeans at Banana Republic. I promise this is not a sponsored post, I was just lucky enough that day to only visit one dressing room for a whole look.

Saying Goodbye to Winter in NY – Personal Style blog

March 17, 2015

OOTD-NewYork-Fashion-blog-Streetstyle-Mybigapplecity

There are days when you surprise yourself. Some things you thought you could never do, say or wear. Fur, even if it is faux, is among the fabric I would have never imagined wearing. I remember how my grandma loved her fur coat (real or not, I will never know). Every winter, she would joyfully take it out of her closet (actually mine as she stored it in my bedroom), and wear it with pride.  As soft as it was, I hated the way my grand mother’s delicate silhouette would disappear underneath it.

Shades of Neutral – OOTD New York – Fashionblog

March 2, 2015

ASOS-JCrew-Fashion-blogger-streetstyle-NYC-mybigapplecity

Snow, snow, snow. It seems like this Winter is dragging and there is always more snow falling on NYC.

It has been a while since my last outfit post (since last Summer to be precise) so I thought I would share another one of my OOTD or outfit of the day with you. The snow made this photo shoot special and a tiny bit magical. I actually think the snow stole the show here.  It was easy enough as we took these pictures on my little Upper West Side Street in Manhattan before heading to a warm and cozy coffee shop.

NYC Winter On The Streets

Sweater: ChicWish / Jeans: AG Jeans  / Boots: Stuart Weitzman / Bag: Michael Kors / Beanie: H&M

What keeps me excited with the beginning of the colder months in New York, is the good excuse it gives me to go shopping. Every year, the eternal comment bursts out of my mouth in front of my wardrobe : “I have nothing to wear, I really need to go shopping!” (ok each season I say that). I love Winter clothes because you see, you have to layer a lot to keep warm and suddenly indulging investing in a cashmere piece is a necessity.
