Rayures et barboteuse à New York

Oui, oui. Je vous assure, je suis toujours à New York sur ces photos et dans un endroit très spécial. Mêler la mode à New York, c’est mon passe temps favori. D’autant plus quand je découvre une nouvelle perle new-yorkaise. L’endroit est parfait pour une petite session photo avec ma salopette d’été, bien que je la considère comme une barboteuse d’adulte. Encore une fois, je l’ai trouvé sur le site de Tobi.com, en solde ici. Je la porte simplement avec une marinière à manches courtes de chez H&M assortie à mes sandales compensées trouvées chez DSW.

Yes, I assure you I am still in New York on these photos. But in a very special place, indeed! Mixing my love for Fashion with New York is one of my favorite things to do. Even more so when I get to discover a gem of NYC history. The location is perfect for a photo shoot so I was glad I was wearing my new overalls from Tobi.com (you can shop it here on sale). It is such a comfortable piece to wear, I will probably live in it this Summer. Here, I paired it with one of my many striped T-shirts from H&M and a pair of sandals found last year at DSW.

La ballerine géante de Jeff Koons à New York

Une ballerine géante a pris place au coeur de Manhattan ce printemps à New York. Vous en avez sans doute entendu parler. Il s’agit de la Ballerine de Jeff Koons. L’artiste new-yorkais est connu pour ses oeuvres métalliques, plus particulièrement ses animaux en forme de ballon. Il me tardait d’aller rendre visite à cette jolie ballerine au Rockefeller Center.

A gigantic ballerina has set foot in the heart of Manhattan this Spring in New York. I am sure you have heard about it. I am talking about the famous Ballerina by Jeff Koons. The NY artist is notably known for its ballon shaped animals. I could not wait any longer to pay a visit to this ballerina at the Rockefeller Center.

Stripes & Puppy in New York

Vive le printemps à New York! J’ai sorti les jambes pour une promenade dans mon quartier de l’Upper West Side le week-end dernier. Alors oui, j’ai les jambes bien blanches mais en voyant mon type de peau, doutez-vous bien que pour moi, mon bronzage d’été se fait essentiellement sous la douche. J’ai toujours été complexée par la blancheur de ma peau, surtout en été. Passer du blanc neigeux au rouge homard pour enfin devenir un brin bronzé… Le dilemme dangereux que j’évite chaque année. Et mon complexe, j’y travaille. C’est l’effet New York! New York qui me donne confiance en moi et me permet d’oser, de me challenger, de repousser mes propres limites. Alors en attendant que la flemme de la première séance auto-bronzante de l’année disparaisse, je balade mes jambes blanches dans la Big Apple.

I love Spring in New York and its first warm days of the year! I took my bare legs for a walk on the Upper West Side last weekend. And yes, my legs are super white. With my skin type, tanning happens essentially in the shower anyway. I have always been self-conscious about how white my skin is, especially during Summer. To tan naturally, my skin has to go from the brightest white to a lobster red, and then I can get a slight bronzed effect… It is a dangerous combination that I avoid. And how about my complex? I am working on it. I call it the New York effect. New York makes me more confident to accept myself and push my own boundaries. And as of now, I am too lazy to self-tan. Until then, I am walking my whitest white bare legs in the Big Apple. #hatersgetlost

Preppy style at Columbia University

Non, non ! Rassurez-vous, je n’abandonne pas mon activité professionnelle pour retourner à l’école à New York. Il faut dire que les campus américains n’ont rien à envier aux campus français. Ils sont tellement jolis et il fait bon s’y promener. La fin d’année à Columbia University a sonné avec la cérémonie des diplômes, Graduation Day, la semaine dernière. Avant d’habiter dans l’Upper West Side, je résidais à quelques rues de Columbia University et j’y passais beaucoup de temps (coffee shop, salle de sport, bibliothèque, concerts…). J’y suis retourné le week-end dernier et j’en ai profité pour shooter ce look.

No, no! I did not decide to ditch my job to go back to school in New York. You have to understand that American campuses can easily put French ones to shame. They are always so pretty and it is so enjoyable to walk there. Graduation Day happened last week at Columbia University. It had been a year since I set foot there. Prior to living on the Upper West Side, my apartment was only a few blocks away and I spent a lot of times on campus (coffee shop, gym, library, concerts…). I went back to Columbia last weekend and I happened to shoot this look.

Un printemps rose à New York

J’ai toujours aimé le rose et j’ai toujours aimé le printemps. Et je l’aime davantage quand je le passe à New York. Un vent de magie traverse Central Park chaque année quand les arbres reprennent vie. Tout le monde est en émoi devant les “Cherry Blossoms“, et moi la première.

Avec l’arrivée des températures douces, c’était l’occasion de porter mon nouveau haut de printemps déniché chez Romwe en solde pour moins de 20 euros (toujours disponible et livraison en France aussi ici). Porté sur ces photos avec mon jean couleur crème de chez Topshop, j’envisage de le mettre également avec un short en jean cet été.

I love pink and I have always loved Spring time. I love it even more when I get to spend it in New York. There is something magical about Spring in the city. Central Park is as gorgeous as ever with its flowers popping up. Everybody is in awe of the cherry blossoms, including me. It is so beautiful, it brightens everybody’s mood.

Now that the temperatures are finally allowing it, my Spring closet is getting a well needed update. I found this gorgeous top on the Romwe website, on sale now for less than $20. It is super light to wear and I love how it brightens my look. I wear it here with my jeans from Topshop but I will wear it with shorts as well this Summer.
