This blue color is stunning and the movement of the dress brings the drama. This is a sexy dress with just the right amount of skin showing. The neon color of her shoes pops up the outfit. She chose a wise hairstyle but combined the dress with a black leather jacket for a classy-rock look. Not to mention that a big smile on a face can make the difference.
Just look how this girl pulled her look together. All this (almost) simple pieces for a relaxed look. I like the shades in her hair with light blond color on the roots to finish with dark blond at the end. The Lady Gagaesque glasses also bring a little bit of mystery to it. Oh and I can see myself in them! Awesome!
When I saw this girl at the Lincoln Center, I could not stop thinking about a certain British Princess. They look similar physically, not to mention the style. It is somehow interesting how a single accessorie can pull a look together. For example, if you take out that gorgeous hat, I am not sure people would have noticed her that much. A lesson she is giving us: you don’t need a Prince to look like a Princess. Fashion will do!
A street-style chic dark blue, black & white look. She matches her outfit with the hairstyle. Accessories are here but discreet. Ok, the sticker of the scarf could have been cut but we’ve got the idea here. And nobody wants to mess up with these dangerous eyes! 🙂
I have always been intrigued by photography. I love looking at portraits and “moments of life” pictures but I have always been a bit shy to try to take some myself. So far I have been practicing with landscape and architectural pictures – and New York is definitely the place to be for that!
This past Fashion Week was my first try in shooting random people in the streets and I am glad I did it. At first, I went to the Lincoln Center by curiosity, saying to myself: “I’ll stay an hour just to look”. I ended up spending four hours in the cold, and going back as much as I could. One shot after another, I became more involved and excited. There is something special about Fashion Week: most of the people going to runway shows dress to impress and to be taken in pictures. They are very approachable and willing to collaborate with the camera.
As the person behind the camera, it was a real pleasure to have the opportunity to explore another type of photography. My training continues and I am confident enough to say that I discovered a new passion in shooting all types of people. I will surely continue to ask people for a shot in the streets. In the meantime, Fashion Week might be over in New York but I still have a lot of good street-style pictures to share with you.
