New York Fashion Week: a touch of Fur!

February 9, 2013

Hello New York City, it’s that time of the year again! It is said that February is the most depressing month of the year. The winter has been on forever, the holidays are far behind and it’s freezing outside. Well, I think it is pretty depressing too, but this was what I felt before: before I discovered the magic of Fashion Week and all the excitement around it in the city. I had the chance to hit the streets before the arrival of the snow on Thursday, and let me tell you that: Yes it is freakin’ cold but there is nothing like a chic outfit worn by a pretty person with a big smile to warm you up, people! If you are wondering how New Yorkers fight the cold without losing their style, it’s easy: fur, fur, fur! They wear their best pieces of fur. Here is what I caught.

Survive the cold weather in NY // Survivre au froid à NY

January 25, 2013

Are you afraid of awfully cold weather? Well I am because I hate to be cold. And as a French girl in a country where A/C is the king all year long, I am often suffering. Don’t get me wrong, I love snow and to go skiing in the Alps. But when you are neither on the mountain nor on your snowboard, wearing your ski outfit is a no-no-don’t-do-that.  If you live in New York (or Paris or…?), you live in a fashionable city enough to stay chic and stylish. What is the secret for not freezing then? Layering! Yes, layering can save you. Layer as much as you can and as many pretty warm fabrics as you have. Also, covering your head with a kind of fur or knit hat will prevent your brain from losing it. Follow these examples and then, you’ll be safe!

Dress for the occasion!

November 8, 2012

Hello everybody,

Due to the angry visit of Sandy, my streetstyle shots have been affected and I apologize for the lack of posts in the blog. Now that Sandy is gone, her cold friend Athena took over town and dressed up Manhattan with a white coat for the first time this year. Well, summer outfits are definitely gone and I have been waiting for months to show you that beautiful portrait of that pretty lady dressed in leopard fur.

Stay warm everyone!

Bisou

Ladies in Black

October 24, 2012

Despite all you hear or read about mixing colors, the only one that will never be a faux pas is black! Whatever season, whatever trend, black will always be accurate, black will always be the new black. When I dress in a black outfit, whether it’s a dress or pants, I always feel dressed up. Thinner, taller, the black is the friendly color to any body shape. As if that was not enough, black is always the best color for you to appear chic, elegant and confident. A certainty is: you can never go wrong with black.

Spread some Love!

October 22, 2012

Last week’s rain is gone, the sun is back and the temperatures are higher too. This weekend had a perfect indian summer weather and rumor has it, it’s going to be the same through the week. No need to let go of your weekend’s outfit then!
Anyway, enough with the weather channel report, let’s talk about this girl who would like to spread love through her top and her smile. She is total sunshine! Okay, she knows how to style perfectly: mixing fabrics and accessories (and it is not even too much!). But her face says it all too… Relaxed, charming, edgy with a cool attitude: the face and the look drive the same message. I love, love, love this picture.
