Une petite wishlist mode sur le blog, cela faisait longtemps que je ne vous en avais pas faite. Aujourd’hui, je vous parle de ma wishlist d’automne, ma Fall Fashion shopping list, où je vois la vie en carreaux pour moins de 45 euros ($50). Depuis que je vis à New York, on me demande souvent les boutiques et les quartiers où je fais mon shopping. La vérité? J’ai aussi adapté le mode de vie de New Yorkaise et la plupart de mes achats sont réalisés en ligne.
New York est une ville énorme et y faire son shopping est souvent synonyme de foule. Certes pour un shopping à New York, il m’arrive d’aller me balader à SoHo, Little Italy et Caroll Gardens pour les boutiques indépendantes. Mais je vous l’avoue, j’aime tout autant profiter de mon canapé (et d’un verre de vin) pour réaliser mes achats. La tranquillité fait aussi souvent place à un shopping plus réfléchi que spontané.

It’s been a while since I shared with you one of my shopping wishlists. Today, I wanted to share my current obsession: check everywhere and for less than $50. Since I moved in New York, a recurring question is: where do I shop in the city? The truth is that I also adopted a NYC lifestyle by mostly shopping online.
New York is such a big city and I am also big on laziness. Shopping in New York often rhymes with big crowds. Well it does not rhyme at all but you get the point. Of course, I sometimes wander to SoHo, Little Italy and Caroll Gardens for a little boutique shopping spree. But, what I love even more is to enjoy my couch (and a glass of red wine) while shopping.

C’est ma recherche de l’automne. Je craque totalement sur la chemise à carreaux. Portée pour un look d’automne typiquement américain avec un blue jeans et des hunter boots. Ou sous un pullover pour un effet preppy. Bref, restez à l’écoute sur le blog car je suis certaine de vous partager un look très prochainement.

The check shirt is my big shopping envy this Fall. I am totally into it. I would channel my French American style wearing it with blue jeans and Hunter boots for a total Fall outfit. Or I would absolutely layer it under a Fall sweater for a preppy look.

L’écharpe à carreaux / the Check scarf
Une fois l’automne arrivé à New York, je ne peux sortir sans une écharpe. Il n’y a rien de mieux pour rester cozy au chaud, surtout sur une île comme Manhattan où le vent peut parfois être assez violent. Mon premier critère quand je suis à la recherche d’une nouvelle écharpe: la douceur. Une matière douce en laine ou cachemire (le luxe). Vous l’ignorez certainement mais je suis une addicte aux écharpes et foulards et j’en ai tout un tiroir dédié. Et je suis aussi à la recherche d’une écharpe à carreaux comme dans ma sélection ci-dessus.

Once Fall temperatures have arrived in New York, I cannot get out of the house without wearing a scarf. There is nothing better to keep you warm and cozy while fighting the NYC wind. The first criteria I look for while shopping for a scarf is softness. A soft fabric with wool and cashmere is what makes a favorite scarf for me. This season, I am looking for a new check scarf and here is my selection.

La cape à carreaux / the Plaid cape
Que ce soit une vraie cape à carreaux ou bien une grande écharpe, il n’y a rien de plus comfortable pour commencer la saison. En automne, on recommence à superposer les vêtements et la cape apporte une touche stylée pour compléter un look. Elle est également parfaite aussi bien portée au bureau qu’à la maison pour un look décontracté.

It could be an actual check cape or it could be a check oversized scarf / blanket. In the Fall, we start layering again and a check cape is a great way to complete a look. Whether you are looking to wear it at the office or cozying it up on the couch, this is one of the most comfortable item to wear this Fall.
