March in New York is that big hope that Spring will definitely show up. Then, it’s the month of a huge deception as well, as snow keeps falling on the streets of Manhattan. Sorry guys, the warm weather is not going to happen just yet but while we keep on waiting, you can still embrace the magic of New York City under your layers of cashmere and winter coats.

A Tomboy in the City

March 26, 2015

New-York-Streetstyle-Fashion-blogger-MyBigAppleCity

In my dreams, I am not defined by a single style, but all of them. And sometimes in real life, I’m a TOMBOY.

Among one of my latest shopping sessions in New York (yes, there are plenty of them but never too many…), I was immediately charmed by this graphic sweater from Banana Republic. Attracted by the definition of the Tomboy style, even though my daily style can be better described as basic-chic, I instantly imagined how to style this Tomboy piece. As you already know, I am very fond of pastels and pink… As for the jeans, I have been in a deep and active hunt for the perfect blue jean cut. It’s been months and believe me when I tell you that I have visited a ton of fitting rooms since then. First, I found this perfect pair of ripped cream jeans that you seem to love. And recently, I encountered those petite fitted blue jeans at Banana Republic. I promise this is not a sponsored post, I was just lucky enough that day to only visit one dressing room for a whole look.

Devocion, a charming coffee shop in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

March 23, 2015

Best-coffee-shop-brooklyn-williamsburg-nyc MyBigAppleCity-coffee-shop-devocion-new-york

 —

To begin this week right, I thought we should start by talking about coffee. Even if I am not a fine coffee connoisseur, believe me when I say I can spot the right coffee shop. Today, let me introduce you to Devoción, a charming coffee shop in the trendy neighborhood of Williamsburg in Brooklyn. This place is such a breath of fresh air when it comes to the overcrowded tiny coffee locations in New York. You see, here at Devoción, you have space to think, to write, to enjoy a cup of joe of course, to share a moment with friends and family.

Saying Goodbye to Winter in NY – Personal Style blog

March 17, 2015

OOTD-NewYork-Fashion-blog-Streetstyle-Mybigapplecity

There are days when you surprise yourself. Some things you thought you could never do, say or wear. Fur, even if it is faux, is among the fabric I would have never imagined wearing. I remember how my grandma loved her fur coat (real or not, I will never know). Every winter, she would joyfully take it out of her closet (actually mine as she stored it in my bedroom), and wear it with pride.  As soft as it was, I hated the way my grand mother’s delicate silhouette would disappear underneath it.

Instagram & Other Stories: February 2015 in New York

March 5, 2015

MyBigAppleCity-new-york-blog-lifestyle-heart MyBigAppleCity-new-york-blogger-bryant-park-frozen

Oh Febrrruary, how else can I describe you? It has been a crazy freezin’ month in New York, supposedly the coldest in 80 something years, and I have been struggling to find a motivation to step outside the apartment. Of course, work is an obligation so I had to, shopping is a necessity and brunch… Well, you’ve got to eat, right?!

Seriously though, Manhattan had me dreaming of leaving it all behind to move to a tropical island. As you can see on the 10 favorites photos of my Instagram account for February, it was beautiful, snowy and frozen. To change from my traditional visits to Central Park, I walked by Bryant Park few times and was shocked to notice the giant frozen ice cube that used to be a fountain. This park is so gorgeous in the rain, sun and snow. I love to be in a tiny park surrounded by buildings. It doesn’t get more New York than that.
