“Memoirs of Aphrodite” is the Spring 2013 capsule collection that Elena V Designs presented at the intimate Gershwin Hotel. Inspired by the ancient mythology, the collection transports us to the modern era with elegant and glamourous pieces, perfect for evening occasions.
As her ready-to-wear Spring 2013 collection was inspired by her Ukrainian roots, it was no surprise that the runway happened to be inside the Ukrainian Museum. A creation of modern, comfortable and elegant pieces that are suitable to wear during the day but I also see the possibility for a relaxed and casual evening wear. I like the versatility and freshness of this collection. The textures and marriage of colors are somptuous and I could see myself wearing every single piece. My favorite? The striped shirt with the uncovered shoulders.
It was a sincere pleasure to meet Elena and discover her talent. Congratulations to her and the Elena V Designs team. Their passion and hard work shows magnificently in the collections and makes me hope that Spring 2013 will come soon. Bravo!
